About Maria
My Journey has been winding. There have been some U-turns and derailments for sure. Now in my mid-forties, I can say that I’m comfortable in my own skin. My lifestyle is active, which is why I have always subscribed to “a body in motion, stays in motion”. This is even more critical as I approached my mid-forties and continued in a high-stress career.

My Motivation?
Sure 6 years ago I wanted to look amazing on my wedding day…who doesn’t? That certainly made me step up my workout and nutrition game…but that’s a short-term goal. I realized that what was more important to me was feeling good in my skin, having energy, having a clear mind, and being able to continue to have an active lifestyle…and of course, carrying heavy things when I needed to without worry. I also noticed that many of the people in my personal circle were coming to the same realization or were struggling with some health concerns. However, they were unable to get started or stay committed to the lifestyle change.
I got that secure corporate job sitting at a desk all day, on the laptop, and then allllll those video calls and became a weekend warrior. I continued to play recreational sports with my coworkers and friends and indulged in the bevies and snacks that followed. Nothing wrong with that except my body didn’t like some of what I was eating and what I was drinking. It didn’t like the lack of sleep and certainly not the high stress.
My Next Step
I made the decision to become a Culinary Nutritionist because I wanted to take my nutrition knowledge and cooking skills to the next level! Why not? We are what we eat after all! I’ve been doing meal prep for myself and my husband for years so I have lots of tips and tricks that I can share with you especially in terms of eating healthy with limited time. I’ve learned over the years that saying “fail to plan, plan to fail” is definitely true for me and most of us.
I’m not little Miss Perfect over here. Everything in moderation is key for me. I enjoy my black coffee, my alcoholic beverage from time to time. I love dessert and my salt and vinegar chips. I just try to make good choices most of the time. Life is meant to be lived and I have a great time living it!
What is Culinary Nutrition?
The Academy of Culinary Nutrition defines it as “using ingredients in their whole and fresh forms and combining them to make delicious, healing recipes”. The focus here is about exploring healing foods and still making delicious and clean meals. As a Culinary Nutritionist, I am not a medical professional nor do I diagnose illness or allergies. My role begins once you have been diagnosed and you recognize that you need to adjust your eating habits in order to support your body to change or improve your health.

Fitness Coaching
I leverage Beachbody programs with my clients because it is very budget-friendly and there is such a variety of workout options regardless of the level of fitness or workout preferences. They can be done at home, in the gym, or while on vacation which makes it much easier to stay on track. I became a Beachbody coach 4 years ago because I had so much personal success with their programs.
- I also have a private accountability group on Facebook that I manage to keep my challengers engaged and even keep myself accountable. Sometimes we all need a kick in the pants to keep going. I also share recipes and nutrition tips with my accountability group.
- Some of my challengers need some one-on -one coaching. There is no cost to my fitness coaching provided you are completing a Beachbody program and I am your coach of record.
I can take you through the registration process to get access to the full library of workouts and based on your needs (level of fitness, schedule, preferred types of workouts) I can recommend a program that would work for you. I will then provide the support you need to stay on track.
